Argentina | Wine Sur  March 18; 2011 English BodegasTW: the first mega tasting in aid of CONIN By means of Twitter, a mega tasting has been developed with the aim of helping CONIN’s children. The event will be carry out on 26th March, in Mendoza, Argentina, and will gather great figures of the national wine industry. Twitter’s mega tasting has already confirmed date and place. It will be performed on Saturday 26th March at 7 pm in Ángel Bustelo Auditorium, in the city of Mendoza, Argentina. During this day, consumers may taste Premium and Super Premium wines, sparkling wines, as well as gourmet dishes made by well-known chefs. The idea arose by means of Twitter, when Anabel Caselles, from Bodegas Sin Fin, started asking many wineries that used this network what the feedback with consumers was. Then, from Dominio del Plata’s account, Rodolfo Juaréz made a tweet suggesting a tasting with many wineries and the initiative was very good received by wineries from all over the country, journalists specialized in wine and wine lovers. “This piece of news was taken enthusiastically and some minutes later, it started to be “retweeted” among journalists, the media, sommeliers and wine lovers. Some hours later, the announcement was taking shape in the North, San Juan and Patagonia,” pointed out Caselles. Then, it was agreed that all the information published by Twitter about this issue should include the hashtag #bodegastw. A commission was created for the organization of the event. It gathers Rodolfo Juárez (Dominio del Plata), Anabel Caselles (Bodega SinFin), Gonzalo Merino (WineSur), Pablo Ponce (Área del Vino), Juan Manuel Giménez Riili (Giménez Riili), Alejandro Vigil (Catena Zapata), Calina Salas (Trivento), Gabriela Abihaggle (Bodega Renacer), Juan Ignacio Suarez (Familia Zuccardi) and is opened to those who want to be part of it. The wineries that will have an active participation in the tasting will be Benegas, Catena Zapata, Dante Robino, Dominio del Plata, Doña Paula, Escorihuela, Familia Schoeder, Familia Zuccardi, Gimenez Riili, Luna Roja, Norton, Otero Ramos, Renacer, Sin Fin, Staphyle, Safiro, Sottano, Trivento, The Vines. Special guests The mega tasting will also include the presence of some well known artists. There will be shows performed by Simpecao, Lunfango Tango, The Flinstones and a great surprise in charge of a group of winemakers. Moreover, Dolli Irigoyen and Kevin Johansen will also participate. Plastic artists will also be present. That is the case of Gonzalo Anton, Juan Quesada, Zully Bazán and Cristóbal Peña y Lillo. Wines will be paired with gourmet dishes made by well known chefs of wineries, such as Lucas Bustos, Nadia Harón, Pablo del Rio, Teresa Barbera and Nicolás Bedorrou. Purpose of solidarity CONIN is a Children’s Nutrition Cooperative that aims to stop malnutrition in Argentina, starting in Mendoza and then continuing in the rest of Latin America. This foundation was born in 1993 and was created by Dr. Abel Albino, following the successful model implemented by Dr. Fernando Mönckeberg in Chile, thanks to which this country has the lowest malnutrition rate in Latin America.
